Oscar Romo, Coastal Training Program Coordinator
Oscar
received his Bachelor from the School of
Architecture at La Salle University and
his Master in Computer Science in the Arturo
Rosenbuelth Foundation, both institutions
are in Mexico City. He has been a faculty
member of La Salle University in the Engineering
and Architecture department and in the Universidad
Iberoamericana in Tijuana, BC, and at the
Urban Planning and Studies division at the
University of California in San Diego. He
was a scholarship recipient at the National
Institute of Housing in Madrid, Spain working
in the design of ecological houses for low-income
residents in Africa. He worked as Manager
of the UNESCO’s Latin American Institute
for Educational Communication. From 1994
to 2003 served as advisor to the Border
Environment Cooperation Commission and since
1994 is member of the México’s
National Council on Sustainable Development.
Has been appointed advisor to President
Zedillo and President Fox of México
on Border Environmental Issues. Has extensive
participation in activities with NGO's.
He is currently Director of the Coastal
Training Program at the Tijuana River National
Estuarine Research Reserve. |
